Mother Sea
When we evolved from fishes to humans, we forgot our aquatic origins. Through freediving we reconnect to our deepest self by rediscovering our ancestral link with the sea. Holding our breath we live again the experience that we lived in the womb, because the sea welcomes and protects us, as a mother does with her child. In the sea, we let ourselves be enveloped by the endless blue and, by feeling its call, we realise what brings us back to its depths every time. Beginning to breathe again is like being reborn, and this is our deepest awareness.

Sicilian by birth, Piedmont is my adoptive region. I have been cultivating a passion for videomaking, freediving and trekking for a number of years, up to the point that I turned them into a career. In 2016, I launched an innovative startup company, Professione Droni srl, that operates in the sector of digital video production, with a particular focus on air and water drone videos. In 2018, following the passion I have for the sea, I became a freediving instructor at Apnea Academy, the prestigious freediving school created by Umberto Pelizzari. Over the past few years, I have worked on a number of video projects. The two most important ones are the documentary “Beautiful Lago d’Orta”, which is about the wonders of the Cusio, and the sport documentary “A fil di cielo”, which is about the heroic feat of three ultra runners of the Salomon team who run the route of the Creste della Valle Strona. Drones and freediving, air and water, my motto is "I do not like to keep my feet on the ground".
