Montserrat

For a period of time I chased and recorded women I saw crying in the street. In parallel, I began to explore my family tree and the processes of acculturation. Both searches were traversed by the same name; Both an imaginary member in the history of my family, as well as the neighborhood that had the particularity of making so many women crying on public roads visible, came together in the name “Montserrat”. This video-essay is the product of material filmed over 7 years with different cell phones, and conjectures about the repercussions of beliefs imported from old continents as possible causes of tragedies in ours.
