5th generation Floridian and full-time multimedia designer pursuing my passion for independent filmmaking.
I've had a two decades long career as a graphic designer, and in the process of upgrading my skills in multimedia design at St. Petersburg College, I took a basic video production class as part of the curriculum. Our assignment was to choose any poem and create a 3 to 5 minute film using the poem. I chose a poem by Jack Kerouac and filmed in unique parts of St. Petersburg, Florida where Kerouac spent the last years of his life. I fell in love with the entire process and with the results. I decided to enroll in the video production program at SPC and learn the basics of production. As far as response to my work so far, I entered my Kerouac inspired film into SPC's annual SEmmy awards in 2018 and won both Best Video Production and Best in Show. In May 2019 I won Best College Film at the Boynton Beach Short Film Festival for another short, Pink on Blue. I am currently working on a music video for The Joe Milligan Project.
