Miss You
"Miss You" shows a snippet of the life of Ava, a cerebral tax attorney who keeps her emotions under lock, though recent events in her life in regards to her family make it hard to do so. Alongside her boyfriend Sameer, who's struggling with his own demons while trying to make it as a comic book writer, we follow them through a night of conversations, arguments, love, and finding themselves in one another once again.

Bangladesh-born, Canada-bred (for the most part), Shaz Mohsin has had a love for film since the age of 7, when he took his dad's early 2000s Nokia phone and filmed his first short that he wrote with colored pencils. "Miss You" is his directorial debut. Though having found a decent amount of success as an actor over the past couple years, he's always had a passion for telling stories and found solace in writing. He wrote his first feature film, "Blue Autumn," at 18 for an independent filmmaker in London. A student of all crafts in film, he's continuously looking to improve his techniques both in front of the camera, and now behind it.
I wanted to write a story about love, and the complexities of it. But I wanted to do more this time than simply write. I wanted to see something that I've written actually come to life. So with the encouragement of those around me, I mustered up the courage to wield the camera and started bringing "Miss You" to life. With the power of a smartphone, a 30-day free trial of an editing software, and a wonderful actress in my wife Mariana, this is the outcome. I hope these characters resonate with you, as they do with me.
