Mirrors In Triumph
Maneuvering rather poorly through his early adulthood in the same small town that once housed his innocence and comfort is Nathan Demeter. A billiard fanatic, who struggles to adjust to the ever changing world around him. From the loss of his mother still echoing within his every move, to his precarious relationship with his high school sweetheart, Morgan, stretching thin, Nathan is placed at a crossroads. Everything he has ever cared about gets pinned against one another when a criminal organization expands into his small town, including what Nathan would classify as his territory.

A product of Ottawa and a lover of everything cinema. We are constantly growing and consistent in our pursuits to keep improving our craft. We love what we do and will continue to expand our catalogue and expertise through exploring creative realms. We are positive thinkers, open minded, and just trying to make beautiful movies. It's not about who we are but a greater focus on what we do. We are a team and we are ERA ERA Films. Nothing but love.
We were inspired by the mesmerizing atmosphere of various pool halls as well as the fact that so few movies have utilized these establishments to pursue a story. That's not to say that no movies have ever been focused around billiards: The Hustler (1961), The Color of Money (1986), Poolhall Junkies (2002), but the fact that so many productions have explored card games and certain sports countless times over and over again really pushed us to explore a story that enveloped a pool hall. It was the game that we felt needed to be showcased and explored even further. Billiards we saw similarly to that of chess. It is a game that offers a narrative and that narrative you decide. Who is playing? Why do they play? What does their style tell us about them, and what can be said during a game without having to actually verbalize it? It's a game and setting that we felt would lend itself to not only an independent production, but also to the filmmaking technique of showing, not telling. It is also a game that we love to play so our interest in the story was able to be matched by our love for the game.
