Director Statement

EN: 'Milo' was born from a childhood memory: every summer, new freckles appeared on my skin, so I begged my mother to take me to a surgeon to remove them. I felt different, I wanted my skin to be 'clean' like the ones of other kids. Looking back, I see in this a desire to conform—one that society imposes through unattainable standards, erasing what makes us unique. 'Milo' explores the body as a vessel of memory and identity, searching in the love of our family a way to understand how beautiful and unique we are in our own way, blending reality with fantasy, an element I often use in my storytelling to invite viewers to see the world with wonder.
