Midnight Child

British pimp Jackie Midnight is arrested for conspiracy to murder. He confronts District Attorney Helen Prescott in court.
Immediately, the two recognize one another. Decades earlier, Helen was Midnight's number one lady, on the streets and between his sheets. Midnight gets off by murdering the key witness.
Seeking payback, Midnight kidnaps Helen's teen-age daughter, Nikki, and sells her to the Asian sex trade. A police raid and Midnight is arrested again. This time the charges stick. Helen visits Midnight in jail and drops a bomb. Nikki is his biological daughter. Midnight proposes a deal. Bust him out of jail and he'll bring their daughter back.
Assisted by Rawlins, a transferred Cajun cop, Helen slips Midnight out of the slammer. Bickering the entire way, the odd trio fly to Tokyo and crash a human auction on a fortified estate. They rescue Nikki, but are in a firefight with armed guards. Midnight rams the main gate with the getaway car. He blows it open, but is killed in the explosion.
Back safely in the U.S., Helen and Rawlins are both fired from their jobs. Finally admitting her feelings for Rawlins, Helen agrees to move her and her daughter to the Big Easy and open up a Cajun bar with him.
