Mike Simms is a 30 year old multidisciplinary artist from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Mike was introduced to cameras and video editing through skateboarding and music, and his early content on Youtube helped propel him into freelancing.
Mike is now an established and versatile production-worker in Newfoundland and Labrador. He is experienced in different technical and creative roles within video production. Since quitting his day job in 2019, Mike has boom operated on short and feature films, acted as news editor for CBC NL, written and directed two short films, and more. 
In late 2021, Mike brought his ambitious self produced short film "Thumbs Up" to camera. Currently Mike is finishing the post production on Thumbs Up and plans to make a festival run in 2022/23. It is his hope that this project will help him make the jump into feature films, a goal in which he has been working towards for a very long time.
