Experiencing Interruptions?

M for... (eng subt)

What started as an idea of just running another marathon, this time in Buenos Aires (2019), became an experience in human existence and dreams during running and beyond. The film summarizes the existential themes of human spiritual and philosophical manifest, represented through the letter M. Story gives in-depth ideas of what makes a human to enter the world of madness and marvelousness beyond running. The plot reflects the same experience all over again from different perspectives, sending audience into a philosophical journey.

"People say, marathon is about … running. They are wrong. But people also often say, you really dont know yourself, until you run. This is a story about...when you tell yourself: Just. Stop. Running."

Director Biography - Petri Puroaho

I have always loved movies. But I specially fell in love with filmmusic when I was very young. This passion stayed with me all these years in my life in Finland. I had always left the artistry of making films and music to other people. When I became older, I felt that it was too late for me to start producing things from my creative side. But, starting from 2015 I did small projects at my day-job relating to shortfilms, and my interest increased. I felt also strongly that I would love to make music myself, because I realised that was actually what I had always wanted to do. I have no educational background on filmmaking. I dont know musical notes. I just compose by ear from my heart. I follow my visual intuition and edit the story what feels right and joyfull for me. Between 2016-2018 I practised by doing short videos for the music I had composed. Year 2019 has been the life-changing experience and the first time that I have really started to push my limits in filmmaking and music composing. At the same time, I also found a very fruitfull collaboration and partnership with pianist Peichi Su from Argentina, and with whom I could share my passion with music. Until now, I have done only music for other peoples shortfilms. Now I felt like I had something to say through the experience, story, music and collaboration to create my first official feature shortfilm.
