Tu és o Meu Fado

We often forget that tomorrow doesn't exist yet. Time doesn't wait; it disregards whether we are prepared or not, and sometimes, in an instant, it can become too late...
The actions that never happened and the words that remained unspoken haunt us from within. The time that has passed hurts us. We mourn the farewells, memories embrace us, and the pain eventually fades away.

Director Statement

When GizmoMusix (Willy Valente) approached me with his heartfelt song "Tu és o meu Fado," I was deeply moved by the personal story behind it. The song is a tribute to his late mother, inspired by real-life events that left a profound impact on him, filled with memories and longing.

Our collaboration was driven by a shared vision to capture the essence of his emotional journey. We wanted to create a music video that not only complemented the song but also honored the love and loss he experienced. The decision to include a guest MC added a unique dimension to the music, enhancing its emotional depth.

Throughout the creative process, I had the privilege of working closely with Willy, sharing ideas, and shaping the narrative. He allowed me the freedom to bring his vision to life while maintaining the authenticity of his story.

The video was filmed in various locations, including Loulé, Faro, and Lisbon, each chosen to evoke a sense of nostalgia and belonging. We aimed to transport viewers to the heart of his emotions and the beauty of these settings.

In "Tu és o meu Fado," we aimed to capture the universal themes of love, loss, and the passage of time. It's a simple yet profound reflection on the human experience, and we hope it resonates with those who watch it.

It's been an incredible journey working on this project, and I'm grateful to Willy for entrusting me with his deeply personal story. I hope this music video does justice to the love he had for his mother and the emotions he wanted to convey.

Thank you for watching and sharing in this meaningful exploration of life's complexities.

Warm regards,

Diogo
