Amia is a Maui-based filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller focusing on capturing stories that showcase the true character of Yeshua. Her interest in the arts developed into a passion for storytelling at a young age.
In 2018, she founded Written Truth Productions intending to tell stories that inspire people to know the true character of Adonai, be reconnected to creation, and do what He's called us to do.
Since then, she has independently written, directed, shot, and edited 8 short films: "Silence" (2021), "Nā Nalu Nui" (2021), "A Different Voice" (2022), "The Reconnection" (2022), "Trashed" (2023), "A Different Voice" (2023), "Brisé (2024), and "Mele Wai" (2024).
In a world where modern solutions often overshadow nature's abundant provisions, 'Mele Wai' emerges as a tribute to the traditional and sustainable practices of native cultures. This film is my endeavor to highlight the wisdom and harmony found in these teachings.
What sets 'Mele Wai' apart is its inherent simplicity. Unlike some of my previous projects, here the narrative unfolds organically through nature's own storytelling. Capturing this essence has been a deeply personal journey—a rediscovery of both myself and my role as a storyteller.
Through the protagonist's journey of reconnecting with nature, 'Mele Wai' not only celebrates cultural heritage but also prompts reflection on our relationship with the Adonai and His gifts. My hope is that this film serves as a gentle nudge to recognize and cherish the life source provided by our Creator. By embracing His creation, I believe we can rediscover a profound connection—to nature, to each other, and to our own authentic selves."
