Meeting
Ertan is a young job candidate rushing to make it to an interview. Throughout the day, seemingly ordinary encounters and minor mishaps—spilled coffee, a jacket picked up by mistake, a shirt with unbuttoned buttons—make his efforts to “appear flawless,” both physically and mentally, increasingly fragile. The flow of the city pushes him into a constant sense of being evaluated and judged. This chain of small events, beginning in a café, gradually erodes Ertan’s sense of identity and the meaning he attaches to his outward appearance. The jacket he wears becomes both an opportunity and an accusation, entangled with misunderstandings. As the day progresses, Ertan realizes that every detail he tries to control is actually unfolding beyond his control; stains, mistakes, and coincidences now follow him like an irreversible chain. During the job interview, however, Ertan’s entire effort to “correct” things gives way to an inner acceptance. Instead of the pressure to appear flawless, he clings to a mindset rooted in uncertainty and the uncontrollable. This approach both liberates him and presents a different form of existence before the evaluating authority. The film explores the individual’s constant compulsion to “clean up,” “correct,” and “adapt” in the modern workplace; it illustrates how even minor mishaps shape perceptions of identity and destiny. Ertan’s journey evolves into an existential transformation driven by the dissolution of the illusion of control and the acceptance of uncertainty.
