Director Biography - Mark G. Lakatos

Mark G. Lakatos is a 24-year-old Hungarian-Chinese and American filmmaker. He’s best known for creating and directing "The Siege", Hungary’s first action film, which went on to achieve international acclaim in 2020. In early 2021, he directed the multi-award-winning horror film "Venandi", which was followed by the even more successful "The Siege 2", a feature-length sequel to his 2020 short. 
He founded Trove Film Collective, an indie foundation that has since been involved in numerous domestic productions. His biggest and most high-profile project to date, "The Siege: Archangel One" released in April of 2024 and competed at the prestigious Bujtor István Film Festival in Keszthely.
In 2024, he wrote and directed the horror short "Reunion" and followed up with the grindhouse themed "Meat Locker" in 2025.

Director Statement

Our short film "Meat Locker" merges classic grindhouse cinema with compelling social commentary about mankind's precarious future. Gluttony and blatant disregard for all lifeforms are only the tip of a very deep iceberg and we dive deep into that darkness.
