2nd Best Short Film
He was born in July 22, 1998 in UskUdar, Istanbul. He completed his high school education at Uskudar Hacı Sabancı Anatolian High School. He is a 4th year student of Radio, Television and Cinema at Yeditepe University. The director shot a short film called 42 in 2018. Mazruf is the director's second short film.
I made the short film Mazruf(In the Envelope) in order to share the endless questions about my life with people. One of the characters in my film was created to reflect a possibility that I am afraid of when I am old, and the other to reflect the situation i am in right now. The conversation of these two characters with each other is like two voices in me talking to each other. Thanks to Mazruf, I found some small solutions by thinking about my issues I was questioning and added these solutions to the script of my film. I found it appropriate to shoot the film in yellow tones. The reason for this is that I think that it disturbs the audience and I do want this discomfort to put the audience from a passive viewer position to an active and participant position. In general, I wanted to shoot the film away from static and confused camera movements because the film has a lot to say verbally, so the camera movements should be simple. However, at the end of the film, I used more dynamic camera movements to increase the excitement. Snorricam, contributed to the tension in my film at the very end of the film.
