By the end of her 5th grade math class, Marwa is reminded of her math test the next day; which happens to be on the same day as Eid Al-Fitr. Marwa tries her best to convince her family to let her miss out their Eid celebrations - until she realizes the importance of her family’s holiday.

Director Statement

I am a Pakistani-Muslim woman, born with a cinematic lens in one hand and a storytelling heart in the other. Growing up in Toronto, I found myself straddling two worlds - the rich tapestry of my Pakistani heritage and the dynamic landscapes of Western culture. This beautiful duality became the cornerstone of my artistic vision!

My mission as a filmmaker is clear - to bridge cultures, dismantle stereotypes, and celebrate the richness of diversity. Through my creativity, I want each film to be a love letter to my heritage. Whether through dramas, documentaries, or other narrative long form content, I strive to create a cinematic mosaic that speaks to me as my unique self.
