Marcello Mantero is an Italian-German writer and director who graduated in filmmaking from MetFilm School London.
He has directed several short films, including "Obscurus", a psychological thriller that has received critical acclaim at various film festivals worldwide.
Marcello recently completed his latest short film, "Marion’s Lilies", which is set to begin its festival run in 2025.
He is currently developing his feature film debut in collaboration with his friend and producer, Dorian Bagnoud, with plans to start production in early 2026.
"I have always been captivated by the world of Noir, Thriller, and Giallo. However, this story isn’t a classic ‘whodunnit’ or ‘cop vs killer’ chase. Instead, it’s told from the perspective of a mourning man, forced to make the impossible choice of seeking retribution against the person who took his loved one.
With this film, I want to immerse the audience in the protagonist’s psyche, inviting them to confront the unthinkable - losing a loved one at the hands of a murderer. And, perhaps more importantly, I want them to ponder: Could they hold onto their sanity, or would they succumb to the darkness in such a harrowing situation?"
