Mandarina Cine
Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, August 3, 1982. She has a licence in Hispanics Litterature and
she Graduated from Centro de Capacitacion Cinematografica with honorific mention. In
2011 she travels to Barcelona to attend a postgraduate in Script-writting in Escuela de
Artes y Audiovisual Catalunya.
She directed and produced 3 shortfilms : Partirán las hermosas (2007), CCC; Estío (2010)
CCC, which was selected to participate in International Film Festivals as Morelia
International Film Festival 2009; Sao Paulo Latin-American Film Festival, July 2010;
Shorts Shorts Film Festival MX, 2010; The Prague Brno Festival, 2011; Kinoki Festival
2011; The 1st Underground International Festival 1000 MBT MX 2011; and participated
in the CCC’s Muestra in the Cineteca Nacional in february 2011.
“The end of the day” (in post-production) CCC, her third short film, received a Project
development support from the Oaxaca Program for the Artistic and Cultural
Reinforcement of the Civic Initiatives (C11), 2011. She also took part into shorts films as
"Cuando estalle la mañana" (Escándalo Films, 2012) by Pablo Arturo Suárez, "Para armar
un helicóptero" (CCC, 2012) by Izabel Acevedo; "Un río" (CCC 2011) by Axel Muñoz; "Un
lugar" (CCC 2011) by Daniel Tourón.
From 2010 to 2011 she coordinated the Project Development and Post- production of
“Mosca”, by Bulmaro Osornio. Which obtained the Ambulante-Gucci Grant; FOPROCINE
Post and participated to Gira Ambulante in 2011. Since 2008, she has coordinated the
development of projects as “ "Cefalópodo” by Rubén Ímaz, "Jean Gentil" by Laura
Guzmán and Israel Cárdenas; "Revolución", by Canana, "Abel" by Diego Luna; "Miss
Bala" by Gerardo Naranjo; she also colaborated with Production Companies as Pimienta
Films, Axolote Cine, Ajenjo Cine, Palomas and Calacas, and Canana. In 2011 she teached
Scriptwritting in the San Carlos’ Academy’s workshop, UNAM. She is the producer of the
documentary “The Inner Nation” directed by Bulmaro Osornio and She is currently
developing her First Feature Film “Melee Wheapons”.
Her last short film “Chemistry” was selected in FICM 2018 and Shorts México 2018.
