Maria Lukina was born in the Russian Far East, later moved to Southern China, to pursue a bachelor degree of Digital Media Art at the Zhejiang Normal University based in Jinhua.
Her debut film was animated short "Is the Moon Lonely?", which was Maria's first foray as a director, writer and animator.
