Love Is Love Productions makes films to create more visibility for the stories, issues and challenges of all women, the LBGTQ+ community, and people with disabilities.
Filmmaker, writer, director of the short film, RETREAT (two women rekindle their friendship, and maybe more, at a retreat, only to find they are connected by a recent tragedy) is dedicated to The Trevor Project, a national foundation for suicide prevention for LGBTQ teens. Mari's first film, THE SIBLING RULE (two mothers fake a gay marriage in order to keep their kids in the same school together, but complications arise when the marriage becomes real) was a winner of multiple film festivals and screenplay awards. A graduate with honors from Rhode Island School of Design, Mari is also an author of a trilogy of novels: Greetings From Jamaica, Wish You Were Queer, Camptown Ladies, 80% Done With Straight Girls, published by Bywater Books and winner of a Golden Crown Literary award. Mari's 4th novel, Liddy-Jean Marketing Queen, was released in 2024 and features a main character, Liddy-Jean, with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities who sets out to change the lives of everyone around her, including two women she decides should be together.
