Mama Drama

Shunned by her mom crew without so much as a text, suburban mom Sam goes to great length to uncover the truth. Behaving more like a teen than a mom, Sam gets a serving of her own advice – from her 10 year old. Will she listen?

In additional to a successful crowd sourcing campaign, Mama Drama received a grant from Seed & Spark and ITV Fest to produce the film. It is the first film written and produced by Dina Drew Duva and Joelene Wolfe. Mama Drama has a cast of 10 females and 2 men, a female DP and was written, produced and edited by an all-female team.

Director Biography - Jennifer Weedon Palazzo

Jennifer Weedon Palazzo is an award-winning creator/writer/and producer. She is the founder of MomCave TV, an online network of comedy shows for moms co-owned with Mama Drama member Dina Drew Duva.

Together they have produced several award-winning online projects including Slacker Mom, Mom Cave Live, Porn for Moms, and In the MomCave – which was produced as part of Elizabeth Bank’s – WhoHaHa Women in Comedy Initiative in partnership with YouTube Space. MomCave was sponsored by Women in Film for the initiative.

Mama Drama is the first film short written and produced by Dina Drew Duva and Joelene Wolfe and naturally Jennifer Weedon Palazzo was the perfect fit as the director and editor of the project. Jennifer was creator of the awarding winning web series Slummy Mummy which won best narrative web series at the NY Chain Film Festival, and was an official selection at the Independent Television and Film Festival, La Femme Film Festival, Miami Web Fest, Next TV Web series and Indie Film Competition, Web Series Festival Global, Trenton Film Festival, UMFF, and the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival.
