Making Waves

This half-hour documentary celebrates the inspiring and diverse women who compete at the top level of the dynamic sport of waveski surfing. Making Waves features women from across the world as they strive to achieve their dream of winning the World Title, including Jackie Dillon from WA and Queensland's Melissa Farthing.

At the age of 65, Jackie is ranked number 4 in the world, with 53-year-old Melissa holding the number 2 ranking. Their main competitors include a 19-year-old from France, an expectant mother from the USA, and a 35-year-old from England who surfs in freezing conditions, whilst her 4-year-old cheers her on from the beach.

Shot in Western Australia's Cottesloe, the remote and pristine waters of Exmouth, and in Ventura, California during the World Titles, waveski surfing really shines as the sport that brings these diverse athletes together.
