Mahmoud was born in the United Arab Emirates on November 27, 1981, and now splits his time between Cairo and Sardinia.
He earned a BA in Theatrical Arts from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Giza in 2011 and a BA in Commerce from Ain Shams University in Cairo in 2001.
He began his acting education at the Cairo actor's studio with acting coaches Ahmed Kamal, Mohamed Abdel Hadi, and Ahmed Mukhtar.
which led to his first acting role in Cairo in 2003 in the short film "Pas comme les autres," directed by Amir Ramses Nazra, which took part in the Cannes Film Festival.
In 2008, he was chosen by the Italian director Massimo Michittu to participate in Dove vola la Fenice?, a collaboration play between the Academy of Arts and Teatro Alkestis Laboratory, which was shown during the twentieth session of the Experimental International Theatre Festival in Cairo.
Meeting Massimo Michittu was a watershed moment for him in terms of the value of cross-cultural theatrical exchange, which drove him towards directing.
After returning to Egypt in 2009, he directed his first musical theatre production (Love Above the Pyramid), based on the story of Naguib Mahfouz, which took part in the Arab Theatre Festival at the Academy of Arts in Giza and won honours for best direction, acting, sonography, music, and ensemble performance.
From 2009 to 2014, he appeared in theatrical, cinematic, and television works as an actor, including the comedy Mesh Friends, the film After the Flood, the series Fad Ishtikab, as the second wife of Khairi Bishara, and in the voice dubbing of Jack in the Titanic film.
In 2015, I moved to Granada, Spain, to work on the dance-theatre production Let's Dance Project with European artists from Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain.
This inspired him to study dance-drama with Trinidad Castillo in Rio Chico.

Mahmoud worked on his first film, Holy Steps 2018–2022, a documentary about his journey between Egypt, Italy, and Spain to meet with the Freedom Flotilla, which focused on the Gaza blockade in order to liberate the Palestinian people. The film premiered at the Alard Festival in Cagliari, Italy, in March 2022.
He has begun working on a project called Consciousness Theatre This approach to theatre and self-expression allows individuals to explore their inner selves in a safe and supportive environment, leading to personal growth and a deeper understanding of themselves and others. Through the use of the consciousness map, participants can tap into their creativity and unlock their full potential as performers and individuals.
In 2022, he started Robabekia, an art enterprise, with a team of Egyptian and Italian artists. Robabekia aims to promote cultural exchange and understanding through art. By collaborating with artists from different backgrounds, the enterprise provides a platform for individuals to express themselves and connect with others on a deeper level.
Recently completed the direction of WorkshopTeatri de Vita. EPIC is a European platform for integrating cities that promotes the Italian language for immigrants while also developing the necessary communication skills to facilitate newcomers' social integration in Italy.
In early 2023, Mahmoud began work on the play "Courage," using his theatrical search technique to convert feelings by examining the emotional memory of the body. "Courage" premiered in March in collaboration with the Robabekia Laboratory and, this time, with the Association Corn d'Africa Teatri dei Vita Laboratory.
