Director Biography - Adam Lapallo, Rachel Weatherly

Adam Lapallo and Rachel Weatherly are thrilled to bring the words of Eric Carlson to life in "Maggie Campbell". As Communications Chair and Assistant Director of the Virginia Screenwriters Forum, Lapallo and Weatherly were tasked with helming VSF's first-ever film production as a tribute to Carlson's many years of service to the VSF. Both are accomplished filmmakers in their own rights, with films featured in the Richmond International Film Festival, Awesome Con, and many others. Though they have frequently collaborated on each others' films in the past, "Maggie Campbell" marks their first time co-directing.

Director Statement

"As a board member of a screenwriting organization, directing something I didn't also write was a totally new experience for me, as was sharing the director's chair with another filmmaker. However, Eric's script was so captivating that I knew I had to direct it. Rachel was a wonderful collaborator who made the process so much more professional and enjoyable. I'm incredibly proud of the work we did on "Maggie Campbell" and I cannot wait to show it to the world at this year's VSF showcase."

-Adam Lapallo, Co-Director

"Maggie Campbell was an amazing learning experience from pre-production through final polish. It was my first time co-directing and working with Adam taught me so much about collaboration and creating a shared vision. This film was truly a labor of love; we had the support of the entire Virginia Screenwriters Forum at our backs along with contributions from the wider Richmond film community. I'm proud of how the film turned out and can't wait to share it at the VSF Showcase."
