Kristina Spassovska is born in Geneva, Switzerland, 1990, but grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2018 graduated a Masters of Fine Art in Film Directing at EICAR The International School of Film and Television in Paris. Previously, graduated an Art History degree and One-year program in Writing, Directing and Editing Short Film Forms at the National Theatre and Film Academy in Sofia. In 2019 she moved back to her home country Bulgaria to establish the production company BELLEVUE KINO.
MOTHERLAND (2019, Bulgaria-France) is her debut short film, being the screenwriter, director and producer of the project - selected in National Competition for Best Bulgarian Short Film at the 24th Sofia International Film Festival 2020, and in International Competition and in Zagreb Film Festival where nominated for Golden Pram in 2020.
A short film about the melancholy of separation and the sense of loss as a crucial element of maturation and self-discovery.
