Artist Statement

"Originally from Franche-Comté, a land of snow and rugged character, I was born to a Swiss mother and a French father. I grew up in Besançon, a historic city steeped in the legacy of Victor Hugo and the Lumière Brothers. My early years were shaped by a dual admiration for the works of Gustave Courbet and the Master Watchmakers who established the city’s reputation throughout Europe.

After earning a literary Baccalaureate with honors and spending a transitory year studying economics, I turned to the technical side of cinema at the CLCF (Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français), where I obtained my degree. I later explored the more 'volatile' dimensions of the medium—its history and theory—at Paris-VIII University.

I soon discovered other artistic disciplines, which I mastered as a self-taught artist—most notably the visual arts during a two-year tenure at Graphigro. As a seasoned traveler, deeply influenced by an extended stay in India, I have since focused on carving out a personal creative path. My work exists at the intersection of video production and a wealth of graphic, photographic, musical, and literary experiences. I describe this multifaceted journey as my 'encyclopedic temptation'."
