Η ταινία «Μαύρο Βουνό» είναι μια ωμή αλλά βαθιά ανθρώπινη ματιά πάνω στους κύκλους της βίας που μεταφέρονται μέσα στις οικογένειες.
Μέσα από την ιστορία της Αγνής, της μητέρας, και της μικρής Ντορέτας, επιχειρώ να φωτίσω το σκοτάδι που γεννιέται όταν η αγάπη, η εξάρτηση και το τραύμα γίνονται ένα. Δεν είναι μια ιστορία για τη βία, είναι μια ιστορία για το πώς η βία κληρονομείται, σιωπηλά, από γενιά σε γενιά.

Το «Μαύρο Βουνό» μιλά για το θάρρος που απαιτείται για να ανέβεις το «βουνό» της προσωπικής και οικογενειακής σου κόλασης. Η πρόθεση μου δεν είναι να σοκάρω, αλλά να προκαλέσω ενσυναίσθηση και προβληματισμό, να δώσω φωνή στα παιδιά και στις γυναίκες που σιωπούν.

Η αισθητική της ταινίας είναι ρεαλιστική, σχεδόν ωμή, ώστε το κοινό να αισθανθεί τη συναισθηματική ασφυξία των χαρακτήρων. Όμως μέσα στο σκοτάδι υπάρχει και ελπίδα: η δυνατότητα να σπάσει ο φαύλος κύκλος.

Το «Μαύρο Βουνό» δεν είναι μια ιστορία για το κακό, είναι μια ιστορία για το πώς το κακό γεννιέται από τον πόνο και πώς, μέσα από την επίγνωση, μπορούμε να το σταματήσουμε.

🎬 Director’s Statement

“Black Mountain” is a raw yet deeply human exploration of the cycles of violence that echo through families.
Through the story of Agni, a mother trapped in her own trauma, and little Doretta, her daughter, I aim to shed light on the darkness that grows when love, addiction, and pain become indistinguishable.
This is not a story about violence it is a story about how violence is inherited, silently, from generation to generation.

“Black Mountain” speaks about the courage it takes to climb the mountain of one’s own personal and familial hell. My intention is not to shock, but to awaken empathy and reflection to give voice to the children and women who live in silence.

The visual style is realistic and suffocatingly intimate, inviting the audience to experience the emotional claustrophobia of its characters. Yet within the darkness, there is hope the fragile possibility of breaking the cycle.

“Black Mountain” is not a story about evil. It is a story about how evil is born from pain and how awareness can stop it
