MAGDALENA TINAMOU REDISCOVERY
A group of bird watchers find and take photos of a dead bird that apparently is a new species of tinamou for this area. Upon hearing the news, an expedition was carried out by a group of bird watchers from the municipality of Honda and ornithologists from the Tolimense Association of Ornithology in Colombia, South America; During the expedition they managed to obtain the first record of a live specimen of the Magdalena Tinamú after 238 years, the date on which José Celestino Mutis recorded it for the first time during the New Granada Botanical Expedition.
