Lux Clara

Lux Clara is a short, experimental take on Plato's famous allegory of the cave. Through novel, uncommon and innovative techniques, this movie tries to answer the questions of liberty and its possibility in today's society, self-awareness, and the relationship between individuals and the masses.

Director Biography - Vukasin Zivaljevic


VUKASIN ZIVALJEVIC is an awarded cinematographer who shot/directed/edited a great number of short and few middle-length films and animations, as well as many commercial projects. He finished the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, Department for Drama, Master degree: Cinematographer. He is currently finalizing doctoral studies in drama and audio-visual arts. He is employed as an assistant for TV journalism and Photography in media at the Department of Media Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, UNS.

Director Statement

This project is an exploration in the field of manual animation, especially on working with light and what can be done with it. So we used goboes, 35mm stills, fire, projectors, and a lot of other techniques to see what can be done with light alone.
