Lucy the Lion

Gutsy single mom Lucy has a job interview that can change her life. But after waking up to another one of her daughter Sophie’s bed wetting disasters, she must navigate how to balance work and motherhood, all in a cramped motel room. Lucy rushes to beat the clock, only to discover that Michael can’t daddy-sit – again.

Arriving late and with Sophie in tow, Lucy does her best to impress the interviewer, Adam with her work achievements but he's too busy trying to wrap things up, forcing her to take bold action.

Lucy the Lion is a complex social drama examining the challenges of gender imbalance in a changing political landscape.

Director Biography - Kalman Apple

I’ve created and directed over a hundred commercials and produced both commercials and award winning Short films, I’m a graduate of Art Center College of Design where I studied advertising and Film. I was nominated for an Academy Award® for a short film I directed, won the Canon/Ron Howard Presents Project Imagination contest and the Producers Guild Weekend film challenge. I’ve worked as a consultant in acquiring short films for broadcast and distribution, I’m versed in screenwriting having sold a story and developed a feature length animation film with Walt Disney Animation studios.

I’m an active member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and have sat on the executive committee of the feature animation short film branch. I have been directing projects in 3d animation and am currently ghostwriting, script, doctoring and directing short films as well as writing and developing feature and television projects for hire.
