LOVE SOLITUDE is a short documentary in which Ali Ashiq, an old Kurdish man relates his love story after he lived in mountains for more than 40 years because he could not persuade the father of her beloved to agree with their marriage.

Director Biography - Sardar Sattar

Sardar Sattar Qader was born as a refugee in Iran in 1988. He then moved back to his country, the Iraqi Kurdistan. He obtained his B.A in English Language and Literature, and received his M.A in English Studies from Lodz University in Poland.
Sardar Sattar Qader now works as a journalist in the Iraqi Kurdistan. "Love Solitude" is his first professional film shedding light on the life of 'Ali Ashiq" or "Ali the Lover", who has been living in mountains, caves, and outside populated areas for the past four decades after he was disappointed by his beloved's father, who rejected his marriage proposal with his daughter.
