Director Biography - John Robert Seeley

John Robert Seeley, better known as D1C3 [pronounced 'dice'] (born January 13, 1991) is an award-nominated recording artist, songwriter, audio engineer and film maker from Long Island, New York. D1C3 began making music at the age of thirteen after the death of his step-father.

From writing and recording songs in his bedroom to working with major award-winning artists, producers and engineers; D1C3 has grown to become proficient in audio engineering, mixing, mastering, photography, filmography, photo and video editing, directing, graphic design, and web design. D1C3 has released multiple projects since 2014 and continues to create and plan the release of new and upcoming music for years to come.

In 2019, D1C3 released an album titled ‘White Noise’ which received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 18th Independent Music Awards. D1C3 then teamed up with 2nd Generation Wu artist iNTeLL, and the two artists created the Wu-Tang affiliated hip hop duo group ‘TruVillain’ before releasing their joint project titled ‘ISSUE 01’. In 2021, D1C3 launched the re-release of his award-nominated album ‘White Noise’ which began being sold in various record stores in multiple states. The re-release triggered a great response which resulted in D1C3 partnering up and launching a promotional campaign with Coast 97.3fm of Wilmington, NC to promote the albums re-release. They also worked together to promote an autograph signing event at one of Wilmington’s most well known record stores ‘Yellow Dog Discs’ for the re-release of the album.

In 2021, D1C3 was also featured in the Wu-Tang Clan book ‘Deep In The Dark With The Art’ written by Matteo Urella. The published book explains D1C3 and iNTeLL’s creation of their ‘TruVillain’ group, the history of their project, and the creation of the projects cover art which had been created and designed by D1C3.

In 2021, D1C3 also released a music video titled ‘Love Lies’ with fellow Long Island, NY artist Prophetnyc. The song and video described the complications in toxic relationships and helped shed light on male mental health, which received news and media coverage by Patch.com. It was written by D1C3, directed by Marcus Nazario and D1C3, filmed by Victor Miranda, edited by D1C3, and starred John ‘D1C3’ Seeley, Sean ‘Prophetnyc’ Werner, Janelle Yull, Anna Mayo, and Marcus Nazario.

D1C3’s music can also be heard throughout the award-winning, independent film ‘Interabled’ written and directed by Marcus Nazario. The film received great response and had won multiple awards in multiple categories, including ‘Best Feature in a Musical’.

Over the years, D1C3 has worked with respected and well known artists and producers on records and for live performances and shows. The list includes both 'artists & producers' such as: KXNG Crooked, Arsonal Da Rebel, Omen, Ryu Alexy, Victory Jones, Diabolic, Demrick, DJ Hoppa, Cormega, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Ren Thomas, Keith Murray, 2nd Generation Wu, iNTeLL, Pxwer, Nitty Scott, and more. D1C3 was also the first and only hip hop recording artist to be on the publishing roster of multi-platinum, Grammy award winning & nominated company 'Stadiumred'. D1C3 now operates his own independent label Rival Records while being distributed by Symphonic Digital, and published by Sony Music.

Director Statement

Music is such an amazing and therapeutic part of my life, and having the ability to turn these creations into visual art has given me a way to share and turn some of my most difficult times into positive learning experiences that I can share with those who may need to hear, see and learn from them. At a present time where I find so much personal joy in family and my loved ones, I realize more than ever before that I would have never gotten here without those hard times and the ability to share them with the world.
