Sergio Solares Alvarez stands as a luminary in the realm of filmmaking, his passion igniting screens worldwide since the dawn of the new millennium. As the visionary at the helm of Fungifilms since 2000, Solares has woven a tapestry of cinematic brilliance, captivating audiences with his unparalleled storytelling prowess.
His cinematic journey embarked with the unveiling of his debut masterpiece, "Aire" (2004), a poignant narrative that graced the esteemed halls of the XIX Guadalajara International Film Festival, marking the inception of a remarkable career.
In a testament to his directorial acumen, Solares was bestowed the prestigious title of Best Director at the Freak Festival in Tijuana for his mesmerizing short film, “Saori”.
His first documentary “Festival of Terror” with Guillermo del Toro, Santiago Segura and John Landis had its premiere at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre International Festival.
Collaborating with luminaries such as Scott Rosenfelt and Cesar R. Ramirez CEO of MARC Production Enterprises, Solares coalesced his creative energies to bring to life the riveting feature film "Road to Juarez”.
"Lilith", a testament to its creative depth, won the coveted title of Best Short Film at the Flash Film Fest in Berlin in addition to being part of the official selection of more than a dozen festivals around the world, such as the Genre Celebration in Shanghai, Obscura in Berlin, Full Moon Horror and Fantasy in Transilvania, Morbido, Sacramento Love and Horror, Shorts Mexico, Macabro Film Fest, among others.
Even in the midst of the tumult of a global pandemic, Solares remained steadfast in his commitment to cinematic excellence and presented the cineminute "Králík" portrait of Maestro Jan Švankmajer at the Free Independent Film Weekend in Berlin, in addition to directing the documentary "Mar es dentro", a feminist work that reflects on women in confinement through the arts.
Her visionary prowess shone once again when “Killer Dolls” captivated audiences at the close of the London Short Fest, demonstrating her resilience and creative ingenuity.
The last feature film in which Solares edited and co-produced was "The Gigantes", directed by Beatriz Sanchís, a co-production from the United States, Spain and Mexico.
His most recent work is Lookout Creek, a short filmed in Hutto Texas in co-direction and co-production with Cesar R. Ramirez, scheduled to be released in 2024.

With current developing projects as Ladies Forbidden G.O.L.F. Motivational Drama and Crossed Love Inspirational action Drama. Where he has participate as producer, actor, director and/or Assisted put together this films and projects. Has participated with people in the industry heavy weights like: Scott Rosenfelt (Home Alone, Mystic Pizza). Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, The Kings Daughter). John Leguizamo (Critical Thinking, Romeo and Juliet, Ice Age). Cesar specializes in identifying promising projects and shepherding them through development to distribution.
