SELF
Marlisa comes from a theatre based background and is self taught in film-making. Marlisa holds a BA degree in Psychology & English; a UK teachers qualifications (QTS & NQT) in Drama & English; and a post graduate degree from the Academy of Live & Recorded Arts in acting.
This story was inspired by my time living in South Africa and being confronted daily with the great disparity between rich and poor.
I often wondered how it was that young children who start out with open hearts, end up growing into adults who become numb to poverty and homeless children.
Lonely Lights received an ‘Honorable Mention’ award from Social Impact film festival in 2023.
