Live At The Void
One living room. Four bands. A community finding its space.
Live At The Void captures the DIY nature of the local music scene, with full sets filmed at a Mount Roskill flat during a 21st birthday bash. Featuring Neither Do I, Park Flyers, CCTV, and 花溪 Flowerstream, this concert film is a modern snapshot of the Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland City indie scene. It blends performance with on-screen commentary from film-makers Corey Fuimaono and Liam Hansen.

Corey Fuimaono is an Auckland-based filmmaker and producer known for his documentary-style approach to capturing New Zealand’s independent music and culture. He currently works with RNZ (Radio New Zealand), where he contributes to the current affairs program Context and the evening music show Eight ’til Late.
Fuimaono developed his distinct visual style at the legendary independent station 95bFM. During his tenure, he co-hosted the 95bFM Drive show and served as a primary videographer and editor for the station’s live music sessions, documenting performances by prominent local acts.
His latest directorial project, the concert film Live At The Void, serves as an intimate archive of the Tāmaki Makaurau alternative scene. By blending raw performance footage with community narrative, Fuimaono highlights the resilience of DIY music spaces. His work consistently focuses on authentic, collaborative storytelling, bridging the gap between live broadcasting and independent cinema.
Live At The Void is exactly what it says on the tin - DIY at its heart. Its simple yet novel approach is why the project matters so much to myself and my producer, Liam Hansen. This film is a cultural snapshot which I hope over time will inform people of what our time was like as talented locals breaking trends.
Long live local music and just getting shit done our way.
