Liturgy of Emergence
Emergent refers to a phenomenon or property that arises from the interactions between parts of a system, rather than from their simple sum.It belongs to the whole, not to any single part, appearing as a new form of meaning, order, or behavior that cannot be predicted in advance, only allowed to come into being.
Directed by Petr Chroustovsky (2026) This short film is a return to the project Technopatia — a sci-fi / cyberpunk world that first emerged over twenty years ago as a series of paintings and a comic.
Back then, it was a vision. Today, it is a reconstruction of memory. After two decades, I returned to the original works and re-imagined them — not as nostalgia, but as a dialogue between my younger self and a world that has since grown into their meaning.
Images, drawings, and narrative fragments collide here with the contemporary reality of overload, algorithms, collective attention, and the erosion of sense.
The narrator’s voice does not describe a plot — it maps a condition. Technopatia is not a story about the future. It is a message from the present that has learned how to disguise itself. About cities in armor. About attention as a battlefield. About collective consciousness that can ignite — and disappear.
This film is part of a broader body of work exploring:
– the relationship between technology and empathy
– the crowd as an organism
– memory in the age of infinite sharing
– consciousness as the only true form of armor

Petr Chroustovský, DiS. - graphic designer, game developer, director, digital creator, webmaster, 3D printer and last but not least, ISP network administrator of BEST-NET is a technoptimist who has long been involved in cybernetics, transhumanism and cyberpunk with a bizarre sense of humor. He comes from Jihlava and lives in Hradec Králové, where he has done a number of artistic and audiovisual projects (painting exhibitions, screening of the author's documentary film One Year Garden (2014), author of the adventure game Dark Disharmony, winner of the national photography competition Canon 2008, small literary and journalistic works) and is the creator and owner of the company d3arts.cz. Chroust, as he calls himself, is a prankster and "Army of one man" and his penchant for technology has naturally led him to artificial intelligence, which he also likes to dabble in. For example, you can meet his AI model Lenka Baier on social media. He studied mechatronics at the Secondary School of Industrial, Technical and Automotive Engineering in Jihlava and the Secondary and Higher School of Applied Cybernetics in Hradec Kralove in the field of Computer Art and Design.
