Little me, Egotrip
The narrative film is about a central character looking for the source of his problems. He feels a terrible need for the culprit, for all the bad things in his life, because he himself is certainly not responsible for it. In search of an opponent, he delves into his family, society, and world leadership. When he does not find a good reason for his troubles in all this, he delves into nature and God. He finds no reason for his anger, the hypocriticalness of the central character escalates. In the end, we find that the source of all the bad is his own inner voice. The highlight of the film is a confrontation with oneself.

Tyana Rendič is a young filmmaker living and working in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her passion for film grew while attending the Secondary School of Media and Graphic Arts in Ljubljana. She is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, while also leading independent projects. Tyana draws ideas for her films from her life and surroundings. Due to her difficult childhood, she often delves into her own traumas and expresses them indirectly through the characters in her work. She delved into psychological and social issues in the hopes of making it easier for her to understand the world and making it easier for the world to understand her. She is currently still unrecognizable and is working on her career hoping to one day work as a film director and screenwriter.
I chose to direct this film because as a child I always struggled to understnd people and their lack of empathy.
While watching this film, I wanted the viewer to experience my confusion and disorientation that I have felt.
Some of the challenges making this film included tranlsating my point of view as a female to a male character. I decided to do that because I have never used a male character in my films. I wanted to change that and I was also thinking if maybe the male character would be able to have a greater influence on the message due to his sex.
I was inspired by the work of Fyodor Dostoevsky and his novel Crime and Punishment to create this film. I always had this weird connection to the main character of the novel and in my times of anger I even understood him.
Working with this actor was special because we used to be schoolmates but never built quite a connection. Making this film really brought us closer and gave us a whole new experience of eachothers company.
Working with this crew was fun because we were able to use the disadvantages to our advantage and manipulate the possible obstacles.
This film will always be special to me because it really hit close to home, which is why I am so happy to have been working on it with people who are proud and honored to share my story and be proud of it. It is a great pleasure to me that I can see the actors enjoy themselves.
The film turned out to be a little different than the script because the actor has severe tremor and begins to stutter but we made sure to make him comfortable and even used the stutter in the script later on, since we thought it really brings out the character and helps create the tension, as the character stops stuttering at the ending of the film.
The experience working on this film will help me with future projects because now I know how to deal with certain obstacles and maybe even use them in my films. I can also tell that every film that I create gets better as I am learning more and more and getting a better understading of the whole production process and working with the actors and other team members.
