Director Statement

The origin of Litora began with the idea of connecting two of my
homes, Puerto Rico and Chicago. I wondered what these two places had in common. Suddenly, the image of two beaches arrived in my mind. The contrast between a beach with a lake and a beach with an ocean inspired me to write a story. Leandro
and Lauren became the representation of these two homes where these two beaches exist. Playa Torrecilla Baja and Montrose Beach. They both arrive at the beach to avoid facing
their problems but instead they face each
other. A phenomenon allows them to have a conversation without seeing each other. They eventually understand each other, and they realize how sympathizing with their problems can make them feel better. We humans have complex emotions
about our problems but the treatment for those emotions is to talk to someone even if that person is on a different place of the hemisphere.
