My name is Jean-François Rodrigues. I'm a award-winning documentary Filmmaker whose aim is to make films that have a positive influence on society and future generations.
In 2020, we have seen the world plunge into turmoil over the Covid19 global pandemic and the growing realization that climate change is real. Through this enduring year, I have come to understand that leaving our future in the hands of those who place profit before people, appears to be a lost cause. Nevertheless, in a planet with over 7 billion people, the potential of the individual is immense and en-masse they have the ability to influence markets towards less harmful and more environmentally friendly buying trends that can positively assist and benefit the planet. As a filmmaker, I hope that my work goes in some way to bring about the necessary change required to leave the planet in a good place for future generations.
This very short film relates to a subject that has now been a passion of mine for many years. I feel artistic endeavours in all it's numerous forms have a major role to play in making people aware of climate change. The difference in this project is that I have used 3 original pieces of music as hyperthetical letters to Mother Earth as a way of letting Mother Earth know how the artist feel. I have never attempted to present such an important message in such a way as I normally make traditional types of documentaries, However, with this project I have tried to be experimental in my approach by using these 3 music tracks not as music videos but rather a musical voice calling attention to Earth's plight.
