Les Jeux Zoolympiques

884 BC, in Greece, the Pythia, in the name of peace, advocates for the Olympic Games.

2024 AD, in France, the city of Paris, in the same spirit, organizes the Olympic Games for the third time.
A sporting truce is declared. All of Gaul is therefore focused on the upcoming Roman Games.
All of it? No! A small establishment of indomitable Vierzon residents still resists this enthusiasm. They observe that certain disabilities are still underrepresented or sidelined, underreported, and/or completely forgotten in some official sports competitions.
The result of this poor representation: sports, and by extension the values of sports and Olympism, do not always have a place, and thus, in our establishment, sports are not a priority. But will the participation of a few of its "patients" in an Olympics within their own establishment change the situation, perhaps contributing to a reversal of fortune and a certain (re)birth of the flame...?

Director Biography - charlotte chicot

Graduated with the honors with a master degree in Arts from Bourges's Fine Art School and with a bachelor degree in Arts from Lorient's Fine Art School. I'm also holder of a diploma in Make up from SLA Academy Paris. Charlotte is a multidisciplinary artist working in health, social and scholastic fields.

Driven by the desire to be an observer of the human experience, she documents and interprets various multicultural landscapes encountered throughout her journey as a nomadic artist. Her installations combine video, sculpture, sound, photography, 3D printing, and writing, and her work is based on field research, experiences, and direct encounters with subjects (research expeditions to places and communities). From the intersections of these different investigations, series or standalone works emerge, containing multiple scenes that summarize her discoveries, constructing complex narratives.

Fascinated by the challenge of translation in the arts and how it can transcend migrations beyond geographical borders, the identity-driven and intimate approach of her creative work has motivated her to use the camera and sound space as key elements in her work. It becomes a point of convergence between reality and representation, which, after undergoing various transformations and manipulations through editing, creates a moment closer to memory and representation than to reality.

Charlotte Chicot (née en France en 1989, actuellement basée en Région Centre) mêle art visuel, sonore et narration.

Animée par le désir d’être une observatrice de l’expérience humaine, elle documente et interprète divers paysages multiculturels rencontrés tout au long de son parcours d’artiste nomade. Ses installation mêlent vidéo, sculpture, son, photographie, impressions 3D ou encore écriture et son travail repose sur la recherche de terrain, sur les expériences et la rencontre directe avec le sujet (expéditions de recherche dans des lieux et des communautés). De la rencontres entre les différentes recherches, naît des œuvres en série ou autonomes contenant de multiples scènes qui résument ses découvertes, construisant des récits complexes.

Fascinée par le défi de la traduction dans les arts et par la façon dont elle peut transcender les migrations au delà des frontières géographiques, l’approche identitaire et intimiste de son travail de création l’a motivée à utiliser la caméra et l’espace sonore comme éléments clé dans son travail. Point de rencontre entre le réel et la représentation qui, suite aux différentes transformations et manipulations par le montage, crée un moment plus proche de la mémoire et de la représentation que du réel.

Director Statement

In Cher (18), about ten workers from the Esat of Vierzon, managed by PEP 18, recently completed the filming of a sketch-based movie that questions the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the Paralympic Games. Out of the twenty-three disciplines available, only three are accessible to them (swimming, table tennis, and athletics).

This short film, with a screenplay written by the film team with the help of Mallory Grolleau, the CNC, and Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, was initiated by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (Drac) Centre-Val de Loire and will be released at the end of the year.

Dans le Cher (18), une dizaine de travailleurs de l'Esat de Vierzon, géré par les PEP 18, ont récemment achevé le tournage d'un film à sketches qui questionne la place des personnes en situation de déficience intellectuelle aux Jeux Paralympiques. Sur les vingt-trois disciplines présentes, seules trois leur sont accessibles (natation, tennis de table et athlétisme).

Ce court-métrage, dont l'écriture du scénario a été réalisée par l'équipe du film avec l'aide de Mallory Grolleau, du CNC et de Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, a été initié par la Direction régionale des affaires culturelles (Drac) Centre-Val de Loire et sera diffusé à la fin de l'année.
