Lee Has Yellow Eyes
Do you have a sickle cell trait? I do and so do many black people or of the African descent. When I had my son I was 18 and when he was 3 days old I was told he had sickle cell disease. Over the years we faced many challenges with sickle cell and when he turned 18 he had a stroke. Seven years we started recording this is our story.

Born in Palo Alto, California raised in East Pali Alto I was a teen mom. I found out I carried a sickle cell trait and so did my son but my second son had sickle cell. To get through hard times I turned to the arts and combined that with my passion for advocacy for people like us. In 2016, I wrote, illustrated and designed the cover of my first book.
