"Art is the closest we can come to understanding how a stranger really feels." - Roger Ebert
Laura Kemp has returned to writing and painting after nearly twenty-two years as a professional firefighter. Despite her discovery that it’s more daunting to craft good fiction than it is to run into burning buildings, she lives the creative life at Gamble Creek Studio, formerly her small farm west of Seattle, WA. When she isn’t hiking the local trails, Laura can be found at her laptop, day-dreaming about returning to Kauai or fly fishing in Montana when she is supposed to be revising her latest draft.
