Director Statement

At the beginning, I intended to depict the story of fairies, but then I realized there is no legitimate and trouble-free way to shoot my ideas and I would be confronted with numerous problems; covering fairies completely due to hijab restrictions would create an absurd image of them, dancing is forbidden in public places and I would not be able to obtain the legal license. I considered this situation an opportunity for narrating the story of creative people who cannot create what they desire freely. Therefore, I transferred a part of fairies’ story to paintings to have more freedom in them and create a comic situation by showing the contrast between imagination and reality. Also, I wanted to admire those artists who fight in this oppressive censoring circumstance but the art of whom does not become acknowledged and does not reach its desired result.
