Director Biography - Dusan V Harminc

Born and raised in Serbia, Dusan Harminc is a Milwaukee based Bachelor of Fine Art with interests in Cinematography and Storytelling.
He co-owns and operates a mom and pop production shop called Stumptown Media.

Director Statement

Language Back is a short documentary featuring snippets of conversation and lectures at Indigenous Nations Poets #LanguageBack Workshops from UW-Milwaukee and The College of Menominee Nation in 2024.
 
The film consists of narration by Kimberly M. Blaeser (Founder of In-Na-Po), Mark Freeland (Director of the Electa Quinney Institute), and Language Revivalists: Rosa King, Richard Oshkeshequoam, Kai Pyle, Brock Schreiber, and Wayne Valliere

This short showcases In-Na-Po Workshop participants gathering and community-building in lecture halls and in nature, featuring time-lapse cinematography of Overpass Light Brigade's LED letters created by Lane Hall.

It is set to a soundtrack featuring world music and a short poem by Jeremiah Moses, Jr.
