I am Roel Soetewey, a Belgian animation filmmaker and student at LUCA School of Arts in Genk. For my graduation film, I created a 3D animation short inspired by the Antwerp legend of Lange Wapper, in which I translate folklore into a contemporary, cartoonesque visual style. Alongside my studies, I gained experience at Fabrique Fantastique and worked on various creative projects, including a children’s book and motion design for a festival. In my work, I combine humor, sagas, and social themes, always with a personal and playful approach.
