Director Statement

My vision with Lacuna was to capture the feeling of someone who is desperate to find love, and to be loved. There is something oddly relatable about doing the strangest things to make ourselves feel desired. There tends to be a common message in today's movie culture, and that is women are strong and independent people who don't need a Prince Charming. While I agree with the sentiment, I think it can be misleading. Why can't it be both?! Girls love love! We want to be swept off our feet! I like the idea that Lacuna is not ashamed of feeling this way, and will do whatever it takes to achieve this goal. She is inventive, she is smart, and she is a romantic. I can't wait to share her story.
