Director Biography - Amanda Mergulhão Ferrari

Brazil, 1996.
Once upon a time, in a family of dentists a filmmaker was born. By seven years old, Amanda had already persuaded her friends and pretty much the whole family to act in her movies. While "normal" kids would play with cars and dolls, she preferred the rocks from the garden; it was much more fun having to imagine their faces, as well as categorize their age based on their sizes.
Now the whole family is supportive of her art. Grandpa is a tailor and costume designer and her mother has worked on vampires 'and werewolves' protheses for the actors.
Filmmaking undergraduate course in São Paulo, Brazil, now she's a graduate student at Florida State University, in the College of Motion Picture Arts.

Director Statement

Yes, John Lenon was right. All you need is love, but I'd add fantasy as well. I am constantly trying to remind people that the world is more magical than our tired eyes are used to show us. There is nothing more realistic than a fantasy movie.
