Director Statement

"La Roche is the product of three childhood friends pursuing their passions: skiing for Marc, and filmmaking for Basil and me. The film's outcome is as significant to me as its creation process. We aimed to narrate Marc's journey, a tale not centered on medals and podiums (yet), but on triumph. Triumphing over fears and doubts, overcoming physical pain, and challenging public perception. Ultimately, La Roche is the story of an athlete who persevered, fulfilling his childhood dream to compete against the best in the world.” – Nolan Büchi

“La Roche is an untold story of mental resilience. Marc’s career is not just one for young aspiring athletes, but also for anyone out there who has a dream but feels like it’s impossible to achieve. That universal aspect makes this project even more special to us. I think that’s ultimately why we make films.” – Basil Schneeberger
