In this iconic setting, a bold new generation of mountaineers rises to make its mark. Lucien and Guillaume — two climbers who have already conquered peaks in Peru, the Himalayas, and Pakistan — now turn their gaze homeward, to the massif that first sparked their love of nature and vertical adventure. Here, they dream of something never attempted before: linking, in one continuous push, the seven sacred Madonnas scattered across the Mont-Blanc range.

These metal statues of the Virgin Mary stand atop the range’s most dramatic cliffs, remnants of a time when faith and survival were deeply entwined. Their presence tells a story of devotion, of mountaineers who once entrusted their lives to higher powers. This tradition, nearly two centuries old, still commands deep respect. In the world of alpinism, no one forgets those who came before — those who risked everything to reach higher ground. Climbing is not just a personal journey; it’s a sacred legacy.

While charting their route, Lucien and Guillaume stumble upon a surprising find: a set of forgotten photographs hidden in an old barn belonging to Lucien’s family in Le Lavancher. The images point to Alphonse Couttet — a legendary guide who once carried the Madonna to the summit of the Grépon — suggesting a deeper, more personal connection to the past.

Son parcours atypique, débuté dans les Hauts-de-Seine, s’est transformé au fil des années en une quête acharnée de sommets et de récits à capturer à travers l’objectif de sa caméra.

Son initiation à l’alpinisme a commencé dans l’ombre d’un mur
d’escalade, mais le destin l’a rapidement conduit vers des horizons plus vertigineux. Inspiré par l’œuvre de Joe Simpson et fasciné par les drames et les triomphes des alpinistes anglais, Laurent a forgé son identité d’explorateur des sommets, un passionné qui n’a jamais renoncé à rêver, même face à l’inaccessibilité de certains objectifs.

Un moment charnière survient avec la découverte du film AU-DELÀ DES CIMES de Rémy Tezier, mettant en scène les ascensions emblématiques de Catherine Destivelle. Puis son équipe d’expédition réalise une première mondiale en dévalant l’éperon sud de Gasherbrum II (8035 m) au Pakistan en ski. Cette performance audacieuse et technique a attiré l’attention de la communauté montagnarde internationale,consolidant davantage la réputation de Guillaume en tant que pionnier intrépide.

En parallèle à ses exploits en haute altitude, il démontre également ses talents cinématographiques en réalisant le film intitulé Ô’PARIZAD, capturant les moments forts de ses expéditions.
