LPPIE aka SHEFFA

A 10 year old boy living in the slums, is called Sheffa (meaning Lip), for a scar he bears. His mother scolds him and uses him and his friends to sell weed on the streets. Her ambitions are threatened when Sheffa gets the period, revealing that in fact Sheffa is a girl being raised up as a boy.

Director Biography - Omneya Okasha

Omneya Okasha. Screenplay Writer and an Independent Filmmaker from Alexandria, Egypt. A UCLA Alumni after completing the postgraduate program in Screen writing for film. She had also attended courses in filmmaking in NewYork Film Academy, National London Film and Television School, and had been trained in writing with Egyptian Screenwriter Wessam Soliman, and in Film Clinic Production Company with Screenwriter and Producer Mohamed Hefzy, and Mohamed Amin Radi. She had worked on production sets of independent short films, feature films and commercial shootings. Omneya is currently doing her MA in screenwriting in Birkbeck University, London.

"LIPPIE aka SHEFFA", is her first short film, produced as a proof of concept, for her first feature screenplay, "Harelip."
