"I was 20-years-old in 1980 while taking a Film Appreciation Course at The University of Massachusetts at Amherst when watching for the first time, Sir Alfred Hitchcock's lurid Serial Killer film, 1972's FRENZY. The film featured an embroiled decoy (later Patsy as Richard Blaney, played by Jon Finch) to the real necktie strangler, played by Barry Foster, as Robert Rusk. The emergent scene of Rusk strangling a Dating Service Agent, also wife of the embroiled Patsy as Brenda Blaney, played by Barbara-Leigh Hunt, with an exceptionally realistic twist (Rusk's pulsating reddening face and the particular disparate anguish of religious invocations by Hunt left me will the willies for decades, I overcame those to produce and sequence a silent split-screen to the right side of my monitor while juxtaposing to it's left side the actual electric performance of Mr. Soul by Neil Young and The Buffalo Springfield soundtrack, that also spliced with Young's acoustic 1998 live concert footage. The resequencing of images/sounds/and editing of film footage became my personal Identification Badge with both cinema and music that I loved as a child. As a followuP, I reshot the video itself as Trailetr/Teaser within a second monitor when I had to move upstairs to a smaller er, tighter apartment to afford rent ... this time Young's acoustic performance where I watch and comment upon the anguish of Serial victims in our real time real World, also the monitor playing video two in progressively extended time sequencing. Neil Young' fans inadvertently, while rooting for him were unbeknownst rooting for Rusk strangling Mrs. Blaney - quite the ironies. The finish of the Teaser delivers full impact and reality ...
